ABOUT

GREG JAMES

The doctor behind Kratos Medical.

I first started working with Sports Teams in August 2014, which sparked my interest in Sport and Exercise medicine. Initially starting with rugby and American football, I have since gone on to work with those competing in horse racing, motocross, competitive bodybuilding, weightlifting, powerlifting and marathon running.

For several years, I created and volunteered in a clinic screening and advising on those using image and performance enhancing drugs (IPED); the use of which has been increasing in recent years. This is something I forged as an area of special interest for me. I have attended and advised at Public Health Wales expert information gathering events, and been pleased to have had input in the consensus guidelines on how best to serve this population.

I went on to advise the Secure Environments doctors, working with the police and the prison population, delivered teaching on this in schools, NHS hospitals and GP practices. I was approached by the military to deliver IPED teaching to their clinicians, and delivered this to a busy auditorium in London in 2018.

MY PERSONAL

FITNESS JOURNEY

Some years ago, I started at a 52 inch waist myself! My weight was out of control, my health was in serious jeopardy and I made the commitment to change. It remains the single best decision of my life. I know exactly how difficult, stressful and challenging this can be, so for me, it is more than a job; it’s personal and every one of my clients can be guaranteed that my passion and expertise are honed by my own experiences.

“I struggled for energy for many months in the past year - but since finding Kratos Medical, I have re-found my energy.”

Dave Smith, 24

TEAM KRATOS

I’ve always been struck by the passion and drive in those competing, and I’m particularly interested in the non-professional athlete - the individual who has to juggle all of the other stresses, strains and commitments while pushing to achieve their goal.

I feel very passionately about what Kratos Medical provides. I want to help the semi-professional get that extra 0.1% as much as I want to help another person to take the first step towards a healthier, stronger, fitter version of themselves.

My own love of sport and fitness came when I used to participate in athletics competitively at medical school. Unfortunately, a series of injuries mean I no longer compete, but that same drive I had to improve performance, with my medical skill set and experience today, is what I wish to deliver to every single one of my clients.

DR ANDREW GREENHALGH

I am an acute medicine doctor with an extensive background in acute, urgent and pre-hospital care. I have been incredibly privileged to work in a variety of sporting events since I initially qualified in 2016.

My experience includes work with every ability, from the professional athlete to the weekend warrior, and I have covered events such as mass participation marathons, English Athletics, British Triathlon and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

My current roles include working as the team physician at Coventry United LFC, as a concussion doctor with Premiership Rugby, and a doctor with Wigan Warriors RL.

Alongside this I still work within the NHS providing emergency care to acutely unwell patients.

Previously, I was fortunate to work in a military rehabilitation hospital, with world expert doctors, physios, dietitians and many other healthcare professionals. Here I helped provide fitness driven rehabilitation, bespoke to every individual patient referred to us, which allowed me to see first-hand the value of tailored treatment plans based on a person’s own goals and aspirations.
